Dr. Jonel Miklea

Dr. Jonel Miklea graduated from the Faculty of Medicine Carol Davila in Bucharest, Romania. He completed his Family Medicine residency at McMaster University in 2001, and shortly thereafter joined the McMaster Family Practice.

In 2003, Jon was awarded the Gerry Cohen Teaching Award. He was a co-recipient of the College of Family Physicians of Canada Outstanding Family Medicine Research Article of 2008, which he presented in Singapore at the World Family Doctors Conference. In 2010, Jon presented on the development of integrated clerkship at the Global Community Engaged Medical Education Conference Adelaide, Australia.

Since 2004, Dr. Miklea has been the Program Director of the Family Medicine Undergraduate Program. He has been a leader in the development of an integrated clerkship program at McMaster University. He enjoys a diverse family medicine practice and has been active as a mentor for many medical students, family medicine residents and International Medical Graduates.
