Faculty

Our goal is to educate and prepare our learners to be the best family physicians in the country. This would not be possible without the immense contribution of our nearly 1,100 faculty members across Ontario.

Our multidisciplinary faculty not only teach medical students and residents, but also contribute at the local, provincial, national and international levels through medical leadership, ground-breaking research, innovations in health service delivery, policy development, international collaboration and disaster relief.

As clinicians, educators and academics, our faculty prepare the next generation of medical students and residents to be thoughtful leaders and compassionate clinicians.

Interested in Becoming a DFM Faculty Member?

We pride ourselves on the quality of teaching that happens at McMaster University and are excited to share these opportunities with our healthcare and education community at large.

There are many teaching opportunities in the department, but we always encourage faculty to start at the undergraduate level. Once you have been with us for three to five years, your practice will be considered for resident assignments.

If you feel that this is an opportunity that you would like to pursue, as a first step, please complete the pre-site visit form. This will start the application process and form the basis of a conversation with either the site director, program director or regional education lead.

Thank you so much for your interest in teaching in Family Medicine. We look forward to working with you!
