We’re a teaching practice associated with the McMaster Department of Family Medicine
Mature FHT with Dietician, Mental health workers, Nurse Practitioners, and Nurse Educators.

Privileges at FP run hospital in Grimsby (West Lincoln Memorial) with excellent local backup and tertiary care centre 20 minutes away. We cross cover each other to allow us to provide comprehensive cradle-to-grave care to our patients, while protecting home and family time.

FAMILY PRACTICE FOR TAKE OVER

Unit 2 – 1447 Upper Ottawa St, Hamilton (at Stone Church Rd)
Well established Family Practice for 37 years, patients of all ages and all ethnic groups, located at a very convenient location at Upper Ottawa St and Stone Church Rd, next to the McMaster Family Medicine Stone Church clinic. Bus stop is right in front of the clinic.
This is a Family Health Team (FHT) practice with 22 doctors in the group, therefore on call schedule is only 1 in 22. Patient roster size about 2000 patients with monthly OHIP payments of around $35,000/month. Within our group, the vacation allowed is 10 weeks /year. During vacation, the practice is covered by the other doctors in the group and therefore there is no cost for locum, and the income stays basically the same during vacations. Therefore basically you can enjoy 10 weeks of PAID vacation.
Staffing includes a Receptionist/office administrator, a lab tech who also doubles as a medical assistant, and a Nurse Practitioner who is licensed to prescribe all medications including narcotics. The NP’s salary is subsidized by the Family Health Team. The FHT also provide a Dietician/Diabetic Educator and a Mental Health Counselor at no cost to the physician.
There is a lab in the clinic and also a pharmacy. The office is shared with another doctor who is in the same FHT but separate practices, we each have 3 examination rooms and a doctor office. Electronic Medical Record used is Practice Solution, one of the best EMR on the market. All rooms are equipped with its own computer and printer, including the lab, therefore 6 computer stations (reception, 3 exam rooms, doctor office, and lab).
I am an Adjunct Clinical Professor of Family Medicine, and I combine family medicine with also practice of Emergency medicine, Cardiac surgery assist, and Coroner work. The practice is well suited for someone who wants to do only family medicine, or someone who wants to combine family medicine with other types of practice such as Emergency med/sports med/surgical assist/research …. etc. as I do.
I also do clinical research, and the office is set up for that with the lab tech as the research co-ordinator. So setting up clinical research will be ready and easy, and you can even take over the BRAIN-AF trial that I’m doing at the moment, which is a double blind, randomized controlled trial of using a NOAC for prevention of early dementia in patients with atrial fibrillation.
This is a turn key, walk in and start working opportunity. The take over time is flexible, with a time line of up to a year or 2. You can take over immediately at any time, or we can partner up so you can gradually ease into it over a period of months. Your call.
The cost of assuming the practice is the going rate of 3 months of gross income, and that includes all the furniture, equipment, and computer system etc. The payment can be over a pre-determined period.
