PANS Study
The PANS study is testing a survey that looks at the development of children: the Nipissing District Developmental Screen (NDDS-R). A group of researchers, led by Dr. John Cairney (Department of Family Medicine) and Dr. Jean Clinton, are conducting the study.
What is the Nipissing District Developmental Screen?
The NDDS-R is a short survey that parents complete and looks at the development of children between 1 month and 6 years. The NDDS-R helps parents and their healthcare providers look at how children are developing.
Why is the study being done?
We would like to see if the new version of the NDDS is useful by comparing it to other questionnaires and tools that are often used. The other questionnaires and tools involve using toys and games to look at different aspects of child development (eg, cognitive, language, motor skills).
What would I have to do?
Complete a few surveys and go to a 2-hour appointment with your child and a trained research assistant. Appointment times are flexible – we offer day, evening and weekend appointment times.
Will I be paid to participate in this study?
You will receive a gift certificate for participating in the study.
