Carrie Bernard has been practicing Family Medicine in Brampton since 1999. She served on the executive committee of the practice from 2001-2013 and was the lead physician for Queen Square Family Health Team from 2014-2015. Dr. Bernard completed her Master's degree in Public Health with a focus in Global Health in June 2012. She fulfilled the role of Community Scholar Lead for the Department of Family Medicine at McMaster from March 2012-December 2013 and has been the Associate Program Director, Curriculum and Remediation for the University of Toronto's Department of Community and Family Medicine (postgraduate program) since January 2014. She is the first family physician to sit on Public Health Ontario's Provincial Infectious Disease Advisory Committee for Communicable Diseases and has been doing so since 2012. Dr. Bernard's research interests include the intersection of ethics with Family Medicine, public health, and global health, Advanced care planning and Scholarship in Family Medicine.
